On Dec. 10, eight organizational professionals from Milwaukee’s Jewish community graduated from Chicago’s Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership. Each earned a master of arts in Jewish professional studies. The graduates are, from left to right: Ellie Gettinger, education director, Jewish Museum Milwaukee; Carrie Barbakoff, administrative coordinator, Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah and educator, Congregation Shalom; Benjamin Kranitz, former executive director, Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid; Toni Davison Levenberg, director, Steve and Shari Sadek Family Camp Interlaken of the Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center; Elana Kahn, director, Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation; Rabbi Shari Shamah, Jewish family specialist, Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center; Lauren Berger, young leadership director, Milwaukee Jewish Federation; Grace Kaplan, who began the program while working at Hillel Milwaukee and today serves as community engagement coordinator at the Raleigh-Cary Jewish Community Center in North Carolina, was not able to attend.
