Director of Outreach Jacob Velleman of Milwaukee Jewish Federation attended a White House Chanukah reception in December.
“The opportunity to attend this year’s White House Chanukah reception was an unexpected honor,” Velleman said. “The beautiful decorations, the music, the chance to reconnect with friends and colleagues, the stirring invocation of Rabbi Susan Talve, and Israel’s president lighting the menorah alongside President Obama all made for a memorable experience.”
Velleman attended an afternoon reception hosted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, and featuring President Reuven Rivlin of Israel.
Velleman was invited by the White House liaison to the Jewish Community, Matt Nosanchuk.
