UWM center receives gift for lecture series

The Sam & Helen Stahl Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has received a matching gift from the Baye Foundation to establish a new “distinguished lecture series in Jewish studies,” according to summer edition of the center’s newsletter, The Golden Peacock.

The foundation has given $17,500 and has pledged an additional $17,500 if the center can raise another $35,000 by the end of 2016. A successful drive will establish a $70,000 endowment to underwrite the costs of an annual lecture.
