Madison federation’s 75th anniversary recognized

May 10 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the organization that became today’s Jewish Federation of Madison.

In honor of that event, the Wisconsin Senate issued a proclamation by which it recognizes “the significant impact the Jewish Federation of Madison has made in the lives of the citizens it serves, and congratulate the Jewish Federation of Madison on its 75th Anniversary and on the countless contributions it has made over the last 75 years.”

The proclamation was introduced by Sen. Fred A. Risser (D-Middleton) and Rep. Lisa Subeck (D-Madison). The JFM provided a copy to The Chronicle.

The JFM sponsored a “Shabbat 75” and invited members of the community to participate in their homes on April 24, according to the Madison Jewish News. The JFM also will hold a community celebration of the anniversary on Oct. 17.
