I wish to commend Hazzan Carey Cohen for his article in the January Chronicle promoting our community’s inclusion of its members with special needs and for his continuing efforts in this area.
I am continually impressed with Cohen’s dedication to local individuals with special needs. The level of respect and dignity he bestows upon participants throughout his programs and personal interactions is truly worthy of merit.
His actions are not only to be honored but should serve as a model for the rest of us. The institutions that support our members with special needs, such as Chaverim, need our community’s continued personal and financial support to insure their enduring success.
I applaud Cohen for all he does with Chaverim and urge us as a community to follow his example.
