Milwaukeean Dorothy Pierce (nee Rabin) died on June 28 of chronic heart failure. She was 87.
Pierce was born and raised in Milwaukee. She worked from home in sales and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary and the Morris R. Guten Auxiliary No. 487, where she volunteered in the lunch program for 23 years.
According to her family, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word games, and playing tournament level Scrabble with her daughter, Susan. She was a “ray of sunshine” who was “always willing to offer advice to those young and old.”
Husband Sid Pierce preceded her in death in 1985. She is survived by daughters Joanne Daley of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Susan (Alan) Love of Milwaukee; and one grandchild.
A memorial service was held on July 2 at her residence, Luther Manor.
