Toby Enid Karp died on May 7 of cancer. She was 54.
Born in Milwaukee, Karp graduated from Shorewood High School in 1970 and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1982.
She worked as a baker at Beans & Barley restaurant in Milwaukee.
According to her family, she enjoyed calligraphy, bicycling, gardening, traveling, reading, drinking coffee and meeting new people.
She is survived by her son Gabe Johnson-Karp of Madison; mother Doris Karp of Milwaukee; brothers Earl (Marlene) Karp of Philadelphia and Scot Karp of Boca Raton, Fla.; and sister Niki (Gary) Skinner of Milwaukee.
Rabbi Pinchas Avruch officiated at graveside services held at Agudas Achim Cemetery on May 8.
The family appreciates memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Hadassah-Milwaukee Chapter.
