Sen. Duey Stroebel seeks reelection

State Sen. Duey Stroebel, a Republican, is running for reelection to the state Senate. He currently represents District 20, but with redistricting, he is now running against Jodi Habush Sinykin in District 8, which includes much of the Milwaukee area’s North Shore.

In the state Senate, Stroebel has served on several committees, including as vice chair for the Administrative Rules Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and the Joint Finance Committee.

He is an active member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg and has coached youth sports. Stroebel has served on the board of directors of local financial institutions and has held several positions in local government, both elected and appointed, according to campaign materials.

Stroebel graduated from Cedarburg High School and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He went into business, in real estate management and development.

Asked about antisemitism, Stroebel said, “The rise of antisemitism anywhere is unacceptable, including local college campuses. Displays of antisemitism need to be called out immediately. I have publicly condemned antisemitism and will continue to do so. Our Jewish friends and neighbors deserve to feel safe, and not feel threatened for their religious or political beliefs.”
