The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Whitefish Bay, held a 2019 summer carnival on Aug 20. Parents Jamie and Kelly Hofman, and Eli, 2, of Whitefish Bay, learned about butterflies through art at a Milwaukee Public Museum table.

Miryam Rosenzweig, president and CEO of Milwaukee Jewish Federation, had a deal with Mark Shapiro, president and chief executive officer of the JCC. If she could dunk him this year, she’d sit in the tank next year. After throwing the ball didn’t immediately work, she just ran over and hit the button. She said with glee: “I did it for the Jewish people!” Shapiro stayed in the tank and got dunked more than once.

Claire Davidson interned for the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle over the summer of 2019. Davidson, a Wisconsin native, attends the College of Wooster of Ohio, but this semester is abroad for her in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Emily Blumenthal interned for the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle over the summer of 2019. Blumenthal, a Nicolet High School graduate, is set to complete her senior year at Brandeis University – she’s an American studies major, will be the news editor for her college newspaper and hopes to work in journalism.
