Milwaukee Jewish Federation was granted the Community Organization Equality Award from the Milwaukee Equal Rights Commission in December. The award was announced on a Saturday at the Milwaukee Human Rights Day Celebration, but the award was presented to the Federation at a later date because the celebration was held on Shabbat. Happy Hipstory Hanukkah! Young Leadership Division of Milwaukee Jewish Federation partnered with Young Jewish Adults of Milwaukee and Young Jewish Professionals of Milwaukee to bring Hipstory Hanukkah to town! Attendees celebrated Chanukah on Dec. 8 with Israeli artist Amit Shimoni, creator of Hipstory. Hipstory is an art series that depicts famous political and popular cultural figures as hipsters.
