The Jewish Federation of Madison has selected longtime Madison Jewish leader Stefanie Kushner as its next chief executive officer, after concluding a national search.
Kushner, currently executive director of Temple Beth El, will begin her new role Nov. 1 after serving seven years at the Reform congregation. During her tenure, she earned a reputation for steady leadership, strong financial management, and effective relationship-building across the community, according to a press release.
Madison Federation Board President Deborah Minkoff praised Kushner’s deep roots in Madison and her commitment to Jewish engagement. “Stefanie brings exactly the kind of leadership this moment calls for,” Minkoff said, noting her ability to strengthen connection, belonging and community partnerships.
Kushner’s appointment followed a nationwide search led by co-chairs Becca Youngerman and Lainie Minkoff, working with the Jewish Federations of North America. Federation leaders also expressed gratitude to Interim Managing Director Robyn Sperling, who guided the organization through a period of transition and will continue assisting until Kushner’s arrival.
