Local supporters of Israel gathered around a Maccabiah torch, from Israel. People gathered around the official “Jewish Olympics” torch on April 26, as part of a vibrant Israel Independence Day (Yom HaAtzmaut) event, at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center. Among this year’s signage, brought to the Israeli Independence Day event by Milwaukee Jewish Federation, was a placard that reads: “Israel’s right to exist isn’t up for debate.” Attendees held up the signs April 26 at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
