Rachel Greenspan has been appointed executive director of Shalom Orlando.
In this role, Greenspan will take on responsibilities for the Jewish Federation of Orlando; Shalom Orlando’s Camp J; RAISE, a training program for adults with disabilities seeking employment; and the Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center. Greenspan previously served as the interim co-executive director of Shalom Orlando for almost a year. She also worked at the Harry and Rose Samson Family JCC in Milwaukee for 18 years. There, she led an early childhood education program with over 400 students.
Shalom Orlando offers community programming located in Maitland, Florida. The organization includes a pre-school, summer camp, sports and fitness spaces, events, and more. The organization has opportunities for families and individuals of all ages to get involved. It serves as a support system and safe environment for community members, according to the Shalom Orlando website.
Greenspan met her husband Paul when she was still living in Wisconsin, serving as a USY Youth Director. They now have two children and have been married for 33 years. Family is of central importance to Greenspan, who wrote in a statement that she hopes to promote a family-friendly environment in her new role.
