Milwaukee Jewish Federation held an event, “Marking One Year: October 7th Commemoration,” at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center. The co-chairs were Melissa Barnett, Elana Karan and Jamie Miller. Hundreds gathered, standing room only with overflow, for an evening of hope and unity, on Oct. 7, 2024. The date marked one year since the Hamas-led attacks, an incursion into Israel that killed about 1,200 people, including many civilians, with the kidnapping of more than 250.
