We wrote a headline that caused some concern and confusion on Twitter today, and we apologize. We published a story about how Joseph Rosenbaum, killed senselessly in Kenosha, has been targeted by anti-Semites online. His last name was how they decided to target their hate, and that’s not right.
An image of our headline was shared on Twitter, without the context of a link to the story. Some people read our headline to mean that we don’t hold all life to be equal.
We hold dear the Jewish value of B’tselem Elohim, the notion that we are all created in the image of God. We regret that our poorly written headline appeared not to uphold this value.
We pray for the families of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, and for the healing of Jacob Blake.
We apologize for any pain we’ve caused.
