MILWAUKEE – A local rabbi is seeking volunteer assistance.
Rabbi Aggie Goldenholz, an Aurora Sinai Medical Center staff chaplain, seeks volunteer visitors for Jewish patients at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton and at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, 2900 W. Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee.
An office volunteer is also needed, to work on projects and enhance patients’ experiences in the hospital. Computer skills are necessary for the office position, which offers flexible days and hours at Aurora Sinai Medical Center, 945 N. 12th St., Milwaukee.
The organization offers training, Goldenholz added.
“This is a mitzvah. It’s a commandment that all Jews are obligated to visit the sick so that the sick can know that they’re still connected to the community which will give them tremendous comfort,” she said.
There is an art to visiting a stranger and to help with that, she offers an eight-hour training session, Goldenholz said.
If interested, call Goldenholz at 414-219-6084.
