Nate Rudman

 Milwaukee native Nathan (Nate) Rudman died Nov. 7, 2015.  He was 98.

He was born Oct. 13, 1917 to William and Sarah Rudman.

He graduated from North Division High School and Wisconsin State Teachers College.  He enjoyed sports, whether playing or watching it on TV.

He was drafted into the US Army during WWII and assigned to an artillery unit in the South Pacific.  Having taken shorthand and typing in school, he was assigned to serve in the headquarters of General Eisenhower in London and then North Africa.

Returning from the war, he met Irene Cohen of Kenosha.  They were married for 61 years until her passing in October of 2008.  He worked at Edison Liquor, where he became vice president until his retirement.

He was president of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue during the transition of selling the building on Sherman Boulevard, relocating the congregation to a temporary location and building the synagogue in Mequon.  Family remembers him as a very humble man who would never gloat over his accomplishments.

He leaves behind daughter Cheryl Rudman, sons Bob (Rachel) Rudman, and Steve (Sandy Carlson) Rudman. Grandchildren Elana (Dan) Rosen, Matthew, Andrew, Zoe & Eli and great-granddaughter Nessa Rosen.  Brother-in-law of Jack (Audrey) Keyes and many nieces and nephews.

Full military honor burial service was held at Mound Zion Cemetery on Nov. 9, 2015. Cantor Jerry Berkowitz officiated. Memorial contributions appreciated to the charity of your choice.
