The month of September kicks off with the Ozaukee County Senior Olympic Games, hosted by Sarah Chudnow Community, on Thursday, Sept. 3, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Contestants will compete in events including bowling, bean bag toss, putting and darts. Medals will be awarded for first through third place.
The other facilities participating in the Olympics are Cedar Springs Health Rehabilitation Center (Cedarburg), Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (Port Washington), Lasata Senior Living Campus (Cedarburg), and Newcastle Place (Mequon).
On Friday, Sept. 4, 2 p.m., singer and guitarist Joe Sectzer will perform.
Songstress Julie Thompson will present jazz standards on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2 p.m.
Shimon Salama, Ph.D., discusses “Preparing for Rosh HaShanah” on Monday, Sept. 7, and “Preparing for Yom Kippur” on Monday, Sept. 21, both at 3 p.m. Salama is an Orthodox Jew who holds a doctorate in chemical physics from Princeton University and is president of S Square Innovations in Milwaukee.
Musician and educator Rick Aaron continues his series “Music Meditation” on Mondays, Sept. 7 and 21, 1:30 p.m. He will touch upon music to aid in the practice of meditation as well as music performed as an act of meditation.
The next “trip” via the “No Passport Needed” series is “Garrett Makes Cents of Quarters” on Friday, Sept. 11, 2 p.m. Designer and author Garrett Burke will share his inspiration for his creation of America’s 50 state quarters and his book “Quarterama.”
Pianist David Alfvin returns for two afternoons of classical music on Thursday, Sept. 10, 3 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 24, 4 p.m.
Rockin’ Randy brings a 50s & 60s dance party on Sunday, Sept. 13, 3:30 p.m.
The musical duo of Craig Siemsen and Patty Stevenson performs on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2 p.m.
The Rotating Artist Series continues with the exhibit “The Chudnow Museum’s Collection of World War I Art”with a reception on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2 p.m. The exhibit will be on display Wednesday, Sept. 16 through Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Jazz singer Ann Davis will perform on Sunday, Sept. 27, 3 p.m.

On Wednesdays, Sept. 2, 16 and 30, at 10:30 am, Attorney Lori Kornblum, adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School and former assistant district attorney for Milwaukee County, offers legal perspective on some of the controversial topics of our times.
