Renata Laxova spoke to approximately 60 people from the community at Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha on June 11. Laxova, emeritus professor of genetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was one of 669 Czechoslovakian children taken from Europe to Great Britain on the Kindertransport (children’s transport) before the outbreak of World War II.
