MilwaukeeChaverim, the LGBT outreach and inclusion initiative of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, invites the community to join them June 5-7 at PrideFest 2015, held at Maier Festival Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront.
The group seeks walkers to join them in the Pride Parade, and volunteers are needed for their activity and information booth.
The celebration begins with an interfaith prayer and Sabbath Service beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 5. The service will be participatory and inclusive for all backgrounds, and will take place at the Stonewall Stage.
Sabbath observance at Pridefest continues with a Shabbat activity and information booth in the Health and Wellness section of the festival from noon-6 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7. The Pride Parade starts at 2 p.m. on June 7.
To volunteer or march in the Pride Parade, visit MilwaukeeJewish.org/Pride or contact Jake Velleman, 414-390-5727 or JakeV@MilwaukeeJewish.org.
MilwaukeeChaverim — the English transliteration of Hebrew for “friends” — is a group of greater Milwaukee lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Jewish people, their friends and allies, wishing to share social, religious, political, educational and cultural activities in supportive environments with the rest of the community.
