In conjunction with its exhibit “Founders & Visionaries: Wisconsin Jewish Artists from the Milwaukee Art Museum,” the Jewish Museum Milwaukee will be sponsoring a lecture on Tuesday, April 14, 10:30 a.m.
Elizabeth M. Matelski, Ph.D., of Carroll University will speak on “Art at Work: The WPA and the Wisconsin Arts Scene.” She will discuss the Federal Art Project of the U.S. Works Progress Administration, which during the Great Depression created jobs for artists, some of them Jewish.
