A free screening of the documentary film “Beneath the Helmet: From High School to the Home Front” is scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, at Marcus North Shore Cinema, 11700 N. Port Washington Rd., Mequon.
This screening is sponsored by “Our Israel Now: Connect, Engage, Advocate,” a program for teens and young adults from the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
The film highlights five Israeli high school graduates who are drafted into the Israel Defense Force. The filmmakers, Jerusalem U, were granted unprecedented access into the lives and training of these soldiers, and thereby brought to the screen the rarely-seen humanity of IDF personnel.
