Weber participating in GreenFaith program

Milwaukee scientist and environmental activist Daniel N. Weber is one of the participants in the GreenFaith Fellowship Program’s class of 2015.

The 30 members of this program come from a wide variety of religious traditions. They participate in residential retreats, monthly webinars and extensive reading, all devoted to educating them about “eco-theology,” “greening” the operations of religious institutions, advocacy and environmental justice.

GreenFaith is an interfaith environmental coalition whose mission is to educate and mobilize diverse religious communities for environmental leadership. It was founded in 1992.

Weber is the senior scientist at the Children’s Environmental Health Sciences Core Center of the Neurobehavioral Toxicology Facility at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

He is also a member of J-WISE, the Jewish Wisconsin Initiative for a Sustainable Environment, the initiative led by the Coalition for Jewish Learning of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. (See the May 2014 Chronicle.)

In an email, Weber told The Chronicle that the program began this past autumn and will last for 18 months.
