SCC January programs to focus on many arts

Sarah Chudnow Community starts off 2015 with a variety of arts programming.

On Thursday, Jan. 8, 2 p.m., Rose Schwartz, vice president of the Falls Patio Players, presents “How to Stage a Play from Start to Finish.” Falls Patio Players is a nonprofit community theater organization that started more than 40 years ago.

Jeanine Semon is featured in SCC’s Artist-In-Residence Series. Her exhibition begins Sunday, Jan. 11, 2 p.m. She is a painter working in acrylic, oil, pastel and watercolor, on paper and canvas.

Rabbi Steve Adams of Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha continues his monthly lecture series “Jews of Other Countries” on Monday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m., with “Jews of Asia: Part One.”

The Winter Music Series begins Wednesday, Jan. 14, 7 p.m., with flutist Rick Aaron and singer Carolyn Wehner. They will perform traditional Jewish tunes, jazz, standards and more.

On Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., join moms, dads and their babies (up to 2-years-old) for the “Baby Talk” program. Participants can schmooze with seniors about what it was like raising children in days past and socialize with other parents of young children.

These events are in addition to regularly scheduled activities at SCC. As always, attending a class, a concert or special event is a great way to "try out" the Community. Find more activities and events at SarahChudnow.org or by calling 262-478-1500.
