The Coalition for Jewish Learning, the education department of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, presents “Tu Bishvat in Our ‘Communitree’: ‘Tu’ Study, ‘Tu’ Act” on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd. Registration is at 6:30 p.m.; the program begins at 7 p.m.
Organizations, families and individuals are invited to gather on the evening of Tu b’Shevat, the Jewish New Year of Trees, for roundtable discussions and a panel presentation on earth, air, fire and water.
An “Action Fair” will include booths staffed by local environmental organizations that will showcase environmental sustainability projects. Participants are then encouraged to commit to a project and will learn how to make it happen.
This free event is held in collaboration with J-WISE (Jewish Wisconsin Initiative for a Sustainable Environment), a program of the MJF. It will include refreshments.
