JCC film class presents ‘The Jewish Cardinal’

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center will be offering its film classes series “Jews Around the World” on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m.

This year’s offerings are scheduled to begin on Sunday, Sept. 7, with “The Jewish Cardinal”(“Le metis de Dieu”) (2013). This French drama is based on the true story of Jean-Marie Lustiger.

Lustiger, the son of Polish Jews, was baptized during the Holocaust, rose within the Catholic Church, and was called upon to act when a convent was erected in Auschwitz.

The film is in French with subtitles, and is suitable for ages 14 and up. This program is co-sponsored by the Nathan & Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center. Discussion will be led by Dr. Richard Lux.

Admission is free. For further information, contact Laurie Herman lherman@jccmilwaukee.org (414-967-8212).
