Milwaukee attorney Irving Gaines, who is still practicing at age 90, was the subject of the cover story of the July 2014 issue of the Wisconsin Law Journal.
Moreover, according to the article by Eric Heisig, Gaines, who practices with his son Jeffrey S. Gaines, is still accepting clients; and he is likely to be one of the longest-practicing attorneys in the state.
Gaines graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s law school in 1947. He is quoted in the article as saying that law practice keeps him mentally fit, and “I like to talk to people. I like to say involved… I’m not interested in vegetating.”
And as he said in a letter to The Chronicle when he sent in a copy of the journal issue, “I think that my entire career has been quite an accomplishment.”
