The Israel Tennis Centers Foundation will hold a fundraising event at the Paley Tennis Center, 2916 W. Vera Ave., Glendale, on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 5-7:30 p.m.
ITC uses tennis as a tool to improve the lives of disadvantaged Israeli children of all backgrounds, providing them with essential life skills that will allow them to achieve to the best of their abilities.
Through its social impact programs, a wide range of children are served, including youth at risk, immigrants and children with special needs, from autism and ADHD to Down syndrome as well as those with developmental and physical disabilities.
The Israeli delegation includes coach Rakefet Benyamini, who joined the ITC-Ramat Hasharon shortly after it opened. Today, 36 years later, she is the manager of the ITC-Jaffa, responsible for developing the Youth at Risk Program.
