Andrea J. Stein, former editor of the Madison Jewish News and a Jewish community volunteer, was awarded a posthumous Doctor of Jewish Nonprofit Management degree by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles on May 19. Her husband accepted the honor on her behalf.
One of five honorary degree recipients, this award recognized Stein’s service to the Jewish community in the 25 years since she received her master’s degree from HUC-JIR.
