“Ida” playing at Oriental Theatre

In early 1960s Poland, Anna, a young novice seeking to become a Catholic nun (Agata Trzebuchowska, right), meets her aunt Wanda, a worldly and cynical Communist Party official (Agneta Kulesza, left). Anna learns that her real name is Ida and her parents were Jews killed during the Nazi occupation. The two embark on a journey to find out what happened to the family in the 2013 Polish film “Ida” by Pawel Pawlikowski. The film is now playing at Milwaukee’s Oriental Theatre.
