The Jewish Home and Care Center was honored as a Community Partner of the Year by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at a ceremony held at the Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts on May 6.
The award was accepted by Beth Draper, volunteer coordinator, who is in charge of arrangements for all volunteers at the JHCC, Chai Point Senior Living and Sarah Chudnow Community.
According to a news release from the JHCC, in presenting the award, Nicky Glaser, manager of UWM’s Community-Based Learning Program, said, “The Jewish Home and Care Center has proven that they are committed to insuring that UWM students have positive service learning experiences. They have been a phenomenal learning site and have taken a large number of students each semester.”
