Deborah Aronson, nee Feingold, of Milwaukee died March 28 of natural causes. She was 88.
She was born and raised in Janesville. She earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1948, which was also the year she married Jerome Aronson.
She was a homemaker, theater producer, actor and educator. According to the Sept. 4, 1973, Chronicle, she was a member of the staff of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Extension Arts, where she helped teach acting. She was a director of the Milwaukee Children’s Theatre Company.
She was a member of Congregation Shalom and a Jewish community volunteer. The April 17, 1992, Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle carried an article about how she helped plan and raise funds for the remodeling of the Ritz Theater in the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
She was also a campaign worker for the Milwaukee Jewish Federation Women’s Division and coordinator of the Jewish Center Community Theater. She was the producer of a benefit performance of “Fiddler on the Roof” in 1986.
She received the William and Fannie Kesselman Senior Service Award from the MJF in May 1994.
According to her family, in addition to theater, she also was interested in politics and world affairs, philosophy, nutrition, child development and music.
She is survived by her husband; children Steven (Marilyn Singer) Aronson of New York City, Robert Aronson (former MJF executive vice president) of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Dr. William (Michele) Aronson of Los Angeles, Dena Aronson of Milwaukee and Susan (Yaakov) Tuchman of Tivon, Israel; sister Lillian Picard of Milwaukee; and eight grandchildren.
Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled arrangements. Her niece, Rabbi Dena Feingold, officiated at the funeral on March 31. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Shirley Brenes, nee Rosenblith, of Milwaukee died Feb. 27 of natural causes. She was 99.
She was born in Poland and came to Milwaukee in 1924 when she was 10. She graduated from West Division High School.
She was a homemaker, and with her husband Albert Brenes ran a small grocery store.
She was a member of Temple Menorah and was active in Hadassah and City of Hope.
Her husband died in 1982. She is survived by children Phyllis (Dr. Sheldon) Dorf, Lynne Brenes, Mickey (the late Karen) Brenes; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled arrangements. Rabbi Levi Emmer officiated at the funeral on March 2. Burial was in Beth Hemedrosh Hagodel Cemetery.

Gary Kaufman of Milwaukee died March 24 of a brain tumor. He was 62.
He was born in Milwaukee, graduated from Whitefish Bay High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completing a master’s degree in English.
He worked as a real estate broker. He was an active runner who enjoyed participating in marathons.
He was a member of Chabad of Downtown.
He is survived by his wife, Jan (nee Macejkovic); children Aaron, Noah, Anna (David) Springob, and Asher, all of Milwaukee; parents Sylvia and Bernard Kaufman of Mequon; and sisters Ellen (Benjamin) Mandleman of Milwaukee and Laurie (Gary) Schmidt of Madison.

Milton Morris of Mequon died March 31 of natural causes. He was 86.
He was born and raised in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with a degree in pharmacy.
He operated a neighborhood pharmacy and a pharmaceutical company; and was owner and co-administrator of Sage Nursing Home. He was a member of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Association.
He was a member of Temple Menorah. His special interests included real estate, tennis and golf.
He is survived by his wife Joan (nee Becker); children Marla (Mark Koerner) Morris-Kennedy of Mequon, Dr. Linda (Dr. Howard Williams) Morris of Syracuse, N.Y., Richard Morris of Seattle, Wash., and William (Rebecca Kaminsky) Morris of Berkeley, Calif.; brother I. M. (Adele) Morris of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law June Becker; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
