Hillel Milwaukee students teamed with the Israel Center of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation to create a response to Students for Justice in Palestine’s “Israel Apartheid Week” at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee during March. The Hillel students tabled in the UWM Union using Hours Against Hate (the anti-hate campaign of the MJF’s Jewish Community Relations Council) and attracted a variety of students and community members over a two-day period to pledge their own hours against all hate and bigotry. They also wore and gave out t-shirts that read “PEACE” in Hebrew and Arabic fused together. The t-shirts were designed and created by UWM student Tamir Klein. Photos were taken by Michal Makov-Peled and Zabrina Tamarkin.
