This is what the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center seeks to accomplish every day. Through education, wellness, cultural events, summer camps and social services, the JCC builds community by serving its ever-changing needs.
Guided by our traditions, and rooted in Jewish values, the JCC’s mission comes alive in many ways — learning to swim, overnight camping, participating in tzedakah at the Jewish Community Food Pantry or community events at J-Shore, learning alongside friends at Gan Ami Early Childhood Education or at the annual Milwaukee Jewish Film Festival. The JCC seeks to meet its members where they are, at any point in their journey.
The JCC serves nearly 3,000 households throughout the area — any many more families who choose the JCC for classes, lessons and events. With an overarching goal of partnering to build a healthier Milwaukee, the JCC seeks opportunities to work with community leaders, partners and any organization that shares a commitment to serving the entire community.
Though that commitment is evident every day — on the fitness floor, in the Daniel M. Soref Community Hall, at the Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp or in the good spirits of “KidShare” and “Laugh It Up Milwaukee” — nowhere will that passion for partnership and dedication to Jewish identity be more demonstrated than in the coming JCC Maccabi Games.
The largest Jewish youth event in the world, the JCC Maccabi Games will call Milwaukee home in 2015. More than 1,000 teen athletes will join our region for a week of competition, community service and a uniquely Jewish experience. The thousands of volunteers, host families, financial supporters, and local participants will join together with a shared goal to galvanize our community, inspire future leaders, and leave a lasting impact on all of Milwaukee.
