Tikkun Ha-Ir will discuss hunger crisis, provide Purim cards

          “Local Jewish Responses to the Hunger Crisis” will be the topic for Tikkun Ha-Ir’s Brunch’n Learn held Sunday, March 9, at Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, 2020 W. Brown Deer Rd.

          The brunch will be at 9:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 10 a.m. Rabbi Marc Berkson will place the topic in a Jewish context. A panel will highlight a sample of local Jewish programming.

          The panel will include Pam Frydman-Roza of Tikkun Ha-Ir, Heidi Salter of CEEBJ’s Salinsky Program to Feed the Hungry, Douglas Fox of the Jewish Community Garden and Donna Neubauer of Congregation Sinai’s Mother Scott Meal Site.

          Following the program, participants are invited to help Salinsky Program volunteers as they prepare a meal for Meta House. People are asked to donate salad vegetables, low fat salad dressing and desserts.

          The organization is also making Purim cards available for purchase. The donation will purchase milk for St. Vincent de Paul Meal Site and other hunger related projects.
