David Shneer, director of the Program in Jewish Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder and an LGBT activist, will give two presentations at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Monday, Nov. 11.
At noon, he will discuss “When the Closet Opened: How LGBT Jews from Allen Ginsberg to Leslie Feinberg Transformed Culture for Everyone.”
At 2 p.m., he will speak on “Reading the Bible Through a Bent Lens: Queering the Bible in the 21st Century.”
Both will take place at Hillel Milwaukee, 3053 N. Stowell Ave. They are co-sponsored by Hillel, the UWM Sam & Helen Stahl Center for Jewish Studies and the UWM LGBT Resource Center.
