The Jewish Federation of Madison is launching three new projects for the coming Jewish year, according to the September issue of the Madison Jewish News.
The JFM has created a Passport to Jewish Life Program. This effort gives $500 (one gift per household) to qualified individuals or families in the Madison area to use for tuition or fees at Madison-area Jewish programs.
The funds will be given directly to the program or organization to which the individual or family applies.
The JFM has created an Innovation Panel that is accepting proposals for new and innovative Jewish community projects. The panel will award up to $28,000 annually to such projects.
The fund will be available for three years. The first cycle of submissions closed on Sept. 30; a second will be accepted on March 3, 2014.
The JFM is organizing a community trip to Israel Nov. 4-13 to coincide with the General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America.
