Chapman retires from Chronicle; Rueth becomes designer

After 25 years of working for The Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle, of which she spent 23 on staff, Yvonne Chapman, 66, retired from her position as production manager as of Sept. 30.

Chapman earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in design from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She designed The Chronicle’s pages and most of its printed advertisements and the annual “Guide to Jewish Wisconsin.” She worked through The Chronicle’s technological transition from paste-up to completely computerized production.

Her successor, who joined the staff as of Sept. 1, is Jennifer Rueth, who has the title graphic designer. She will take over design of The Chronicle’s pages and of the guide, and will do some graphic design for the marketing department of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, The Chronicle’s publisher.

Rueth earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in art education with a minor in coaching, and later took courses in desktop publishing and design related software. She is also a freelance artist, being sole proprietor of Jennifer Rueth Graphics.
