During the 2013 JCC Maccabi Games — held July 28-Aug. 2 in Austin, Texas — four athletes of the 18-member Milwaukee delegation won medals, according to information provided by the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
Shayna and Brianna Key won a bronze medal as members of a 16U Girls Basketball team that combined Austin, Milwaukee and Tucson, Ariz.
Josh Glazer won a gold medal playing as a member of Austin’s 16U Boys Basketball team.
Michael Marcus won five gold medals in golf: two in team competitions, two for shots closest to the pin and one for most improved); plus one bronze medal for individual stroke play.
In addition, in the Star Reporter sports journalism competition, Asher Zaitz won a gold medal for best blogger.
