The Sarah Chudnow Community in Mequon has scheduled for July a variety of events, speakers and the start of a weekly Summer Concert Series, sponsored by the Gilbert Meisel Music Fund of the Jewish Home and Care Center Foundation. All programs listed are open to the community.
• Wednesday, July 3, 3-4 p.m.: “Nia: The Joy of Movement to Music” with Kate Mann. This program occurs each Wednesday in July at the same time.
• Monday, July 8, 1:30 p.m.: Lauralyn Noll, a licensed masseuse, speaks about “The Benefits of Massage for Seniors.” She will also provide complimentary, mini-massages in her studio located at Sarah Chudnow.
• Thursday, July 11, c. noon: “Rehab Reunion.” Anyone who has been through the Sarah Chudnow Community’s Rehabilitation Unit is invited back for a complimentary luncheon and a chance to reconnect with friends they made while living on the campus.
• Thursday, July 11, 2 p.m.: Connie Eastman, residency advisor, will present “Where Did I Put That? Organized Living Made Easy.” She is the former owner of The Organizers, a professional organizing and de-cluttering service for home and office.
• Wednesday, July 17, 7-8 p.m.: The first offering of the Summer Concert Series that runs for seven weeks. The first four concerts are on Wednesday evenings and the last three on Tuesday evenings. The inaugural performance features the Aaron Hetzel Trio, presenting a mix of standards, Jewish music and jazz.
• Sunday, July 21, 2-3 p.m.: The Main Street Song and Dance Troupe performs.
• Wednesday, July 24, 7-8 p.m.: The Easy Days Quartet performs Big Band music of the 1930s and 1940s.
• Thursday, July 25, 1:30-3 p.m.: Panel discussion on immigration reform.
• Sunday, July 28, 2-3 p.m.: Don Weast and Gary Meisner sing “The Great Jazz Standards.”
• Wednesday, July 31, 7-8 p.m.: The Florentine Opera presents “An Evening of Arias.”
