On May 3, U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) released a statement marking Jewish American Heritage Month.
“Jewish American Heritage Month is a time to celebrate Jewish American culture, history and the varied ways this community has enhanced our way of life,” the statement read.
“The Jewish American story is one of strength and perseverance. They have risen above a past stained with hardship to a present characterized by opportunity. I am proud to celebrate Jewish Americans and the positive impact they have had on our nation, Wisconsin and Milwaukee,” the statement continued.
Jewish American Heritage Month has been officially recognized since 2006 and is celebrated each year during the month of May.
