Letter: JCC should remove ‘Jewish’ from its name

          I read in the May Chronicle that the board of directors of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center has decided to open the center on Saturday mornings.

          This is a frank recognition of the fact that the majority of the community’s Jews do not lead Torah-centered lives.

          However, as a sign of respect to those Jews who do, the word “Jewish” should be removed from the center’s name. It should be called something else, because it will be something else.
