Hurwitz manuscript given to CEEBJ library

The family of the late Larry Hurwitz, M.D. and Judaic teacher and commentator, gave the original manuscript of his “Torah La-Am” (“Torah for the People”) to Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun’s Rabbi Dudley Weinberg Library on April 12, according to the May issue of the synagogue’s bulletin.

The 105-volume anthology contains tales from the Midrash, stories, quotations and rabbinical commentary, according to the bulletin.

Hurwitz died in June 2012. In addition to his medical career, he was the senior editor for Torah Productions Inc., and taught Judaic subjects at Emanu-El and elsewhere. His obituary can be found in the September 2012 Chronicle.
