A Feb. 13 press release from the New York City-based Masa Israel Journey informed The Chronicle that Briana Berkowitz of Bellingham is a current Masa Israel Service Fellow.
The release quotes her saying, “Volunteering at the Druze after school program has also been great so far. … I’ve never really taught before in a structured environment, and it requires so much planning, flexibility, and energy. But it’s very fun, and we’ll do a lot of neat stuff there.”
The release describes the Masa Israel Service Fellows program as a “joint, ten-month service-learning program for Jewish college graduates from English-speaking countries and Israelis.”
The release further states that “Masa Israel Journey brings over 10,000 young adults each year to Israel on long-term, immersive programs. It is a joint project of the Government of Israel, the Jewish Agency for Israel and its partners, the Jewish Federations of North America and Keren Hayesod-UIA.”
