Deborah Minkoff was reelected to a second one-year term as president of the Jewish Federation of Madison at the organization’s annual meeting on Nov. 18, according to the December issue of the Madison Jewish News.
In addition, the JFM gave its Ben Minkoff Volunteer Service Award to Susan and Jonathan Lipp at the same meeting. The identity of these honorees was kept secret until the actual presentation.
According to remarks by previous Minkoff Award winner Marc Shovers, the award is not presented annually, but “only when the community finds someone outstanding who they would like to honor” for “a record of committed service” to the Madison Jewish community “stretching over a period of time doing volunteer work beyond the usual definition.”
