Kalmar takes third in magazine’s contest

         Rabbi Wes Kalmar, spiritual leader of Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah in Glendale, took a third place in a contest run by weekly magazine The Week.

         “If Big Bird [a large puppet character in the PBS children’s show “Sesame Street”] loses his gig on public TV, he’ll need a new job,” the magazine explained in its Oct. 26 issue. “So we asked you to please write a line for his resume that might impress prospective employers.”

         Kalmar’s submission was, “Too big to fail.”
