Hillel Academy art displayed at Betty Brinn Museum

Artwork created by nearly 50 Hillel Academy students from grades K-5 through eighth is on display in the Art Central Gallery at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum from Oct. 1 through Dec. 2.

Under the direction of artist Jackie Redlich, Hillel Academy art teacher, students were introduced to various mediums of art such as metal, painting, and pottery. Students learned about techniques employed by artists, and created works based on styles including Impressionism, Cubism, folk art, and branding.

Many students incorporated Judaic elements into their works. A scale model of the Beit Hamikdash, a collaborative work by many students, was created over the course of the school year. Many students provided various interpretations of Jerusalem as the Holy City.

The museum is located at 929 E. Wisconsin Ave. For more information about when the works may be seen, call the museum, 414-390-5437, or visit its website, www.bbcmkids.org.
