The Nathan & Esther Pelz Holocaust Education and Resource Center — a department of the Coalition for Jewish Learning, the education program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation — is helping to sponsor anti-bullying programs slated for early in August.
HERC, Carroll University in Waukesha, and Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee will bring to town Barbara Coloroso for two programs on the theme “The Bully, the Bullied, and the Bystander: Breaking the Cycle of Violence,” on Thursday, Aug. 9.
Coloroso is an author and consultant on parenting, teaching, school discipline, bullying, nonviolent conflict resolution, and restorative justice. Her books include “The Bully, the Bullied, and the Bystander,” “Parenting Through Crisis,” “Kids are Worth It! Giving Your Child the Gift of Inner Discipline,” and “Extraordinary Evil: A Brief History of Genocide.”
She will hold a full-day workshop for teachers 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 Yates Rd. The registration fee of $25 includes lunch.
Then at 7 p.m., Coloroso will give an open-to-the-public presentation at Carroll University’s Center for Graduate Studies, 2140 Davidson Rd., Waukesha.
