Friedman Dental Care in Mequon on April 21 offered a day of free dental work in its second annual “Dentistry From The Heart Day,” according to a release.
Dentists Sidney H. Friedman and Dale Rottman, oral surgeon Alan Kimmel, and their staff and volunteers provided fillings, cleanings, and extractions to 37 patients, with all services valued at a total of $8,000.
According to a website, “Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those who need it. Every year, individual dentists and practices across the country donate their time and resources to host their own DFTH events.”
Gary A. Horowitz of Glendale was recently nominated for inclusion in “Who’s Who of Executives.” This is his third such nomination in the past four years. He works at Investment Tax and Insurance Inc.
Milwaukee pianist Zoya Makhlina Goldenberg will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her piano school with a recital on Sunday, June 17, 1 p.m., at Villa Terrace, 2220 N. Terrace Ave.
The program will include classical, contemporary, and jazz selections. Goldenberg and her students, whose ages range from five to 17, will perform. The event is free and open to the public.
Goldenberg herself will play music of Chopin and Mendelssohn. She will also perform in a trio with violist Olga Tuzhilkov of Cardinal Stritch University, and cellist Rosa Borisova, a teacher in Appleton.
A native of Ukraine, Goldenberg studied piano from the age of five. She graduated from the Gliere Institute of Music in Kiev, and later spent four more years at the Gnesins’ Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. After the Chernobyl disaster, Goldenberg moved from Kiev to Milwaukee, where she established her piano studio.
