Abby Flacks and Roger Daniel of Chicago are engaged and plan to be married in July in Cincinnati.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Wendy and Kenneth Flacks of Cincinnati. Abby graduated from Indiana University in 2003 and works for Edelman Public Relations.

The future groom’s parents are Hedy and Alan Daniel of Fox Point. Roger graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001 and is employed by Foresite Realty.

Julie Ann Platt of Chicago and Steven Bernfeld of Madison are engaged and plan to be married on Sept. 2.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ilana and Marc Platt of Highland Park, Ill. Julie graduated with a degree in zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and works in the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The future groom’s parents are Jane Butenhoff of Glendale and Allan Bernfeld of Milwaukee. Steven earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and is slated to receive a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May. He is employed by the Madison Veterans Administration Hospital.
